Safety and Wellbeing

Central to our College’s Mission Statement is the achievement of a safe, supportive and harmonious environment for all students. We acknowledge that safety and a sound sense of wellbeing contribute greatly to optimum academic outcomes for our students. Our approach to student wellbeing in particular, comes from this understanding. Student safety has driven an embedded culture of ‘Hands Off’ at the College, and students and parents appreciate our ‘zero tolerance’ attitude towards physical harassment.

Rosebud Secondary College fully endorses the ‘SAFEMinds’ approach to students experiencing emotional distress, which means we notice, inquire and plan to support students in need. Our policy is to involve the family early in this process in order to achieve a good outcome for all involved. Our wellbeing practice is also embedded in the curriculum. We have implemented a Mindfulness program, which is a skill that students can practise at school or at home.
