Rosebud Secondary College is a large school situated on the beautiful southern Mornington Peninsula. In 2007, a major redevelopment of the College was completed; the original timber wings were replaced with new buildings, in a layout that better supports contemporary education. This included new facilities for Science, Visual Arts, Library, Technology, Performing Arts, Administration, Middle School Area and General Purpose Classrooms. In 2011, our Language Centre was completed.
In addition, the Southern Peninsula Arts Centre– a 320 seat, commercial-quality theatre – is located at the College. This outstanding facility is used by both the College and the local community, greatly enhancing the local region.
The College also boasts a joint-use two court basketball stadium (Hillview Stadium) onsite and runs a Trade Training Centre, located at the Chisholm Institute site in Rosebud, as part of a local consortium to provide VET pathways for students.
The significant recent upgrade to the College’s facilities has provided a state-of-the-art secondary education centre for the families of the Mornington Peninsula.
It is our belief that, the more pleasant the environment, the more effective the teaching and learning. Thus, we seek to achieve the most attractive physical surroundings possible. Landscaping of the College grounds has formed a key component of the building program. While considerable improvement in the grounds has been seen in recent years, further improvements will include:
- Planting of native trees and shrubs
- Landscaping and mulching of garden beds
- Providing fixed and moveable student seating
- Providing shade areas
- Upgrading playing surfaces
- Shaded seating area for the middle school area
